1. Old Bulky Connector: Yeah, the 30 pin bulky connector will still be used instead of a lighter and faster mini USB adapter which could have really been a very nice upgrade.
2. No Battery Improvements: Focusing on keeping the weight and thickness low for iPhone 5, it seems like Apple has gone for a small(ish) battery. Rest will be revealed when it’s in use by the apple addicts.
3. No Wireless Charging: New phones like the Galaxy S III and Lumia 920 have introduced wireless charging. But, it seems that it’s not available in iPhone 5, although several rumors had reported this as a major new feature. This feature can be enabled in iPhone 5 but it will have to be a thick case.

5. No NFC: NFC or Near Field Communication – it’s uses include initiation of easy pairing with Bluetooth devices and quick exchange of data between two devices. Apple's exclusion of NFC is surprising.
8 a.m., 21 September 2012, the apple iPhone 5 starts shipping. At 7.6 mm and 112 gm, it’s 18% thinner and 20% lighter than iPhone 4S. Well, also being claimed to be the fastest iPhone ever.
It’s a generational shift – completely new hardware with faster processor and graphics, improved cameras, a larger and better 4-inch screen, and a smaller dock connector.
The iPhone 5 is coming in at exactly the same price as the 4S- $199 for 16GB, $299 for 32GB and $399 for 64GB.
